Company History

Techalloy can trace its beginning back to 1919. What started as an early developer of carbon steel welding wires and electrodes under the Reid Avery trade name had transformed into a leading US producer of stainless steel and nickel alloy welding wire and electrodes under the Techalloy name. We have a single focus on alloy welding consumable products and with our partners at Lincoln Electric we can assist with all of your welding needs. We supply solutions.

Key Dates in Techalloy History
1919 Ried Avery company started in Baltimore Maryland.
1953 Techalloy Company incorporated in Pennsylvania. Initial operations were producing stainless steel strip and wire in Rahns Pennsylvania
1980 Techalloy acquired assets of Reid Avery.
1990 Techalloy acquired by French Steel producer Ugine a subsidiary of the Usinor Sacilor group.
Expands on stainless steel and nickel welding consumable product line.
2005 Techalloy Company, Inc. is acquired by Central Wire Group, Canada and combines the welding operations under “Techalloy Welding Products”
2011 Techalloy is acquired by Lincoln Electric, the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment. The company has a leading position in the brazing and soldering alloys market. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Lincoln Electric has 41 manufacturing locations, including operations and joint ventures in 19 countries and a worldwide network of distributors and sales offices covering more than 160 countries.
