Stainless steel coated Electrodes Surcharges :: Metal Markets :: Currency Exchange
Techalloy brand coated electrodes are sold under the trade name Tech-Rod. Coated electrodes are used in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process. The flux coating contains various minerals to impart specific welding characteristics. The most common grades of Tech-Rod stainless electrodes are available in two coating types, -16 and –17 as designated by the American Welding Society in their document A5.4. The –16 version offers the most versatility, finely rippled weld metal, good all position usage, and easy to remove slag cover. The –17 versions excel in offering a smooth, flat to concave weld deposit which blends smoothly into the base metal with a smooth spray transfer arc and easy to remove slag cover. All Tech-Rod stainless electrodes are formulated with a balanced chemistry and ferrite content. Actual deposit chemistry certifications and calculated ferrite certifications are available free of charge.
